About me
I currently work at Digital Science, who develop digital products for the research academic
ecosystem. Previously, I worked at the Wellcome Trust, UK's largest charitable foundation,
delivering data science tools to facilitate grant making and impact analysis. I am also part of the
Scoping Committee for Datakind UK, a volunteer-led
organisation using data in the service of humanity, chairing their monthly meetings on Scoping &
Impact assessment.
Prior to that, I was in charge of an award-winning
knowledge transfer partnership program on machine learning and computer vision between the
University of Essex and London start-up Filament AI, and was a research associate at Imperial
College London.
I hold a PhD in Applied Mathematics, a Chartered Management Institute Certification (Level 5) in
Management and Leadership, a Google Cloud Engineer certification (2019), as well as a number of
formal specialisations in cloud computing and deep learning.
I am a fellow of Science 2 Data Science and an
Associate Member (AMIMA) of the Institute of Mathematics & Its Applications.
I occasionally have the bandwidth to provide services for small organisations during out-of-office
hours. This generally includes data science training, advice on prospective data science projets and
exploratory feasibility studies.
Get in touch for a coffee β if this sounds like you.
I contribute to a number of open source software repositories, and I strongly believe in funding for
basic
research, especially Mathematics. Outside work, I am interested in modern art, languages,
and minimalistic classic piano (playing & listening).
As a researcher, I have held several positions in a number of countries, such as π§π·, πͺπΈ, πΊπΈ,
π¨π, π«π·, and π¬π§. You might be familiar with my old website, not updated
anymore.
